KCR welcomes a NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

On October 21st, at the Scout Hall in Nelson B.C. the Kootenay Cooperative Radio Annual General Meeting saw a the forming of a renewed Board of Directors.
Kootenay Cooperative Radio welcomes the following Directors to the Board who are joining ongoing Directors, Lise Godin, Bob Olsen, & Nancy Likness.
Welcome to Board: John Humphrey, Bill Levey, Devorah MacLean, Susan Kurtz, & Catherine Fisher. We all look forward to the years ahead working with these dedicated volunteer directors.
During the Annual General Meeting much was discussed with and presented to the membership present.
Including the presenting of the Hall of Fame Award to Tom Clegg, long time KCR volunteer who offers much support in regards to technical equipment and technological operations of the radio station.
During the Meeting there was an active and engaging discussion regarding the financial status of the organization during these times of global economic challenges & change. It has been reported that the business and membership support is something to celebrate, for even during times of economic challenge, sponsorship revenue is consistent with past years and growing with positive feedback from the local business community and listening members.
The continued solvency of KCR depends on the success of fund-raising events like Beat the Beats, and Membership Drives. Therefore Kootenay Cooperative Radio calls out the community to participate, to engage in the sustainability of locally-produced media. Those listeners in our community that enjoy KCR are encouraged to share in the experience, and to rally together as the community that built this little engine that could, to keep it running strong and free! (Not really "free" - but free in spirit!)
