Building Committee Meeting Minutes May 27, 2009 5:00 PM
Present: Richard, Fred, David Regrets: Dustin, Terry, Neil
Projects ongoing:
1. Wheelchair elevator at rear of building – used elevator from house in Rosemont has been sold
- - Medichair 3 stop elevator ballpark estimate $30,000 +/- 20% (they are sending us a quote)
-preliminary funding request filed with NelsonCares for that amount
2. Wheelchair access at front of building – alternate building access (for use during work at front) steps and hinged gate to back porch – done
- -building permit not required for work
- - Bernie the inspector requests pipe railing and visible marking edge of new step. Cost of pipe ~ $100
- - we will use one of the metal steps from Jeff Schecter for foot scraper in entry and build catch tray with drain to fit
- - Richard will check availability of plastic corners for under concrete pads (Argenta)
- - Terry? will check with Leah to find out what is in the budget for this project for this year
- - $200 in next year's budget for finishing this project
- - depending on money available we will go with exposed aggregate(more expensive) or plain concrete pads (both 2' and 1' squares)
- - construction planned for second week of June – start with railing
