Youth Radio Camp for Teenagers!
Youth between the ages of 15 & 18 can earn High School elective credits through Summer Youth Radio Camp at Kootenay Co-op Radio!
August 9th to 20th, offers an extensive, fun, and rewarding cooperative experience learning the skills involved with producing quality community radio.
Kootenay Co-op Radio, is collaborating with Self Design High in order to offer four high school credits for those that complete this amazing camp experience. Instead of just one week campers will get two weeks to dive deeper into the world of community radio.
What is involved? Youth will experience hands on experience in: Reporting on news that is of interest to youth, interviewing and research skills will be practised, producing short radio skits with a local history focus, mixing music, and learning how to use sound boards and recording /editing technology will all be part of this amazing two week camp.
Through this Summer Youth Radio Camp opportunity, youth will explore all areas of working in radio, giving them a chance to broadcast two different shows in opposite genres, while learning about the medium of community radio!
