Group Committee Meeting March 5th at 5pm:
Where the Fund-raising, Community Connections, and Membership Committees to meet and plan out the month of May events and to discuss the campaign and proposed changes that will be fielded to the Finance Committee on March 9th.

Volunteers/members of Kootenay Coop Radio are invited to post their comments on this forum thread or if interested to attend the meeting on March 5th, for your contributions to the planning process are welcome.

Agenda:
1) Short discussion on proposed changes that came out of the last Membership Committee Meeting. (15 minutes).

2) Membership Month of May: Spring Membership Fundraising Drive 2010: Planning community events, mapping out the month!
(45 Minutes)
Bring your ideas, community contacts, event partnership ideas, and be prepared to sign up for one of the many areas that need volunteer dedication.

*Proposed changes that will be submitted to the Finance Committee as a recommendation from the Membership Committee:

1) Increase in membership fees proposal being sent to Finance Committee: instead of “low income” term will be “starter membership fee” increase from $25 to $30.

2) Increase in “regular” from $45 to a sliding scale $50-$65.

3) Increase in “family” from $80 to a sliding scale $80 to $100.

Proposed changes to the Membership Drive itself:

4) Instead of a one week Membership Drive campaign, for this Spring it is proposed to create May as Membership Month, so as to campaign through community events the entire month, with the intention to allow for less stress on new and experienced programmers and volunteers overall, while offering more public opportunity for members to connect and pay.

5) Proposed elimination of the PLEDGE, to relieve the station of volunteer hours in reminder calls while creating the concept that payment is more important than pledging, allowing for a more accurate account of progress.
